Well Kyle I'm Joe AKA JSF13.I don't have an Airedale yet due to the nature of my business at the moment. It just requires too much of my time for me to provide a dog with the time and attention it deserves. But I am hoping to aquire an Airedale from Hi Country sometime in the future and I am here to learn as much as I can in the meantime and contribute whatever I can.Previous dog experience includes Akita, Amstaff,APBT,Bedlington Terrier and a couple of rescues of the mixed APBT variety.Never done any serious hunting with dogs but my APBT did take down a couple of racoons and my Amstaff tangled with a Porky with no lasting ill-effects,and the Akita managed a groundhog. My kids Bedlington? Well she chases the cats, squirrels and racoons out of the yard but thankfully none of them have ever stopped to discuss the issue, lol. Oh yeah,I was banned from Al's board because I thought Mark was a good trainer. At least I think that was the reason as they wouldn't tell me and I couldn't think of anything else.

Hello Kyle and everybody on this board,
I joined this board after being a reader on another one for a good 4-5 month by now. Enjoyed it tremendously.
My name is Alex, live in suburb of LA, train Airedale in AKC obedience and schutzhund (interesting combination, I know). Would love to be a part of this interesting and diverse community.
Best, -Alex-

Welcome Alex. It is always good to see new people joining in, especially from so close to home. I understand there is a Great Western Terrier Club in S. Cal. Are you familiar with it? We seem to be getting more schutzhunders all the time. I didn't know there were many airedalers interested in the sport. Welcome.

I'll join in: I'm Melanie, I have Iko and Sus-Sous (susu). We live in Southwest Lower Michigan on what we lovingly call the Sunset Coast. I am a professional dog groomer and a Ballet & Tap Dancer/dance teacher. I've done AKC OB, Agility before is was sanctioned, had the first Airedale to earn a Flyball title (Yeah, Don!) had a crippled Airedale named Idgy for 10 years. Got Iko specifically for Schutzhund. Susu too. I won't mention she's a Show dog also! She is heavy with pups now, due in less than 2 weeks. I can feel them moving already - she appears to have tons of babies in there. Iko seems to be coming along on Airedale schedule in his Schutzhund training. I am trying to be patient. We are newbies to Sch. I was born and raised by Airedales in the 50's, and have had nothing but ever since. In the late 80's early 90's my Airedales and I traveled with the Real Canadian Superdogs as performance dogs, agility, flyball, drill teams, actors, and entertainers. That was FUN! I find this board a little tough to get used to, but I'm sure it Will shake out great. It's a good site. Very nice work, Kyle. That me in a nutshell. Who's got the Nutcracker? ;D Mel

Thank you guys!
Don, there is a Great Western Terrier Association (they hold their trial usually in the end of june - conformation, obedience, earth dog test). I'm a member of southern california airedale terrier club (www.socalairedale.com) - helping them with web site design. Unfortunately they dont have anybody doing schutzhund and just a few obedience. Heard about you and your kennel all the way down here from Sandy Pesota.

Memory doesn't always serve accurately though Alex.

Don,
Your memory serves you well - she is a vice-president of Southern California Airedales and has some capacity with ATCA.

I've certified two Airedales in SAR, Myles and Lill.
Madonna v.d. Laubenhaid passed her Senior Upland Hunter in August.
