If all goes well, should return this weekend with a girl friend for Brisco. Fingers crossed. Puppy food suggestions ( no goats or rabbits easily accesible)

I feed pups what I feed adults. What do you feed your adults?
CongRATS on the new addition!

glad to hear it! I'm excited for you, Ed www.localharvest.org/products.jspwww.bestfarmbuys.com/ now that you mention it, if you want to milk them you have to breed them, & there's never any shortage of unmilkable male offspring of course meatgoat folk are in the meatgoat business, so they're looking to make a profit on meat; whereas many dairygoat folk are just hoping to offset their operating costs by finding somebody who'll buy an unwanted buck, buckling, &/or whether (castrated male) last I heard the market price for unwanted dairygoats "on the hoof" was $15 might be worth a look if you have a bunch of dogs to feed?

Ed, I have used and like large breed Precise but I would think that Stew has a better formula.

As the breeders on the board know, there is a big factor of "cr*pshoot" regardless of pedigrees. Maugh knows a lot about the Laubenhaid line and pup's father Othello seems by reputation a good dog. The pups mother Hexe is a young female the daughter of Eyk v Erikson well known if you follow this kind of thing. Any how the first day has been fun and will get some pics as things settle down.

the variables may seem infinite, but there's nothing random about the laws of inheritance
people who's livelihoods depend upon producing reliable animals have always relied heavily on studbooks

Ed, That's fantastic! A great pedigree and I know you will give her the very best environment in which to grow and thrive. I'm envious. As you say, there are a lot of variables in a pup, but still you narrow things down when you search out a pup like this. Best of luck with her and do keep us posted with pics and reports as she grows. What does Brisco think of all this? Regards, Maugh
