TD, excellent post. Thank you from saving me from digging that one up. As I have said, theres a lot more to the story than a simple wham-bam. If one cares about their breed, all aspects should be known, whether or not the reader likes it.

We vaguely remember someone emailed us over 3-4 years ago requesting hair from our dogs for some sort of genetic project. It looked like a scam to us so we didn't respond. Don't think Bairedales wasn't in operation yet at the time. Around spring of 1999, we did DNA on both our black Roc and Fancy Girl in conjunction with the registration process. Roc's father was black & tan Robert McKenzie and the mother was Paula, a black female. Fancy Girl came from Anna Odom. Fancy's black & tan father was Harley and her black mother was Bon Bon. If they weren't purebred, the registry wouldn't have accepted them.
Carl
Carl posted this on page 2, and I was wondering if any of the other breeders of the Black or Red airedales ever got any of the same requests.

The other 12 said and I quote, "We never got such request", another said, "I would have asked them why and what for". And I am standing on three bibles and will say I never rec'd such a request. The 15th one said, "huh?"

"The first Dog Show ever held took place in the Town Hall, Newcastle-on-Tyne, on the 28th and 29th June, 1859 [ ]" - the kennel club, a history of it's record & it's work, edward william jaquet, secretary of the kennel club books.google.com/books?id=fJ1copqUhbIC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_v2_\summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q=&f=false "dogs, their origins & varieties" was written by hd richardson, 2 yrs prior to the KC's 1st exhibition, in 1857 (the terrier breeds begin on page 82) books.google.com/books?id=NwEXAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_v2_\summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q=&f=false It's interesting to note how many "badger & grizzle" airedales were entered into the AKC studbook back in 1901 books.google.com/books?id=7X0CAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_v2_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q=&f=false "badger" are black markings on the head (eyes/ears); and back then, grizzle meant GRIZZLE, not just a few stray white hairs no badger whatsoever in the ATCA showcase, and the only grizzle to speak of is on ch stoneridge tobylinn (bitch) www.airedale.org/ped/showcase.cgi# she looks maybe a little lakelandy to me? apparently badger & grizzle have fallen out of fashion with the show community as well? personally I wouldn't mind seeing more of it...

Ignorant sob's come in all shapes and sizes. Here is a perfect example of one. This individual posted this on the Black Airedale story out of pettiness and jealousy. This person does not have to read it, nor comment, but such as the tale of the scorpion and the duck, he just couldnt help himself. Where as he thinks he is cute, clearly shows his true nature to otLink to Post - Back to Top Logged Cowboyvon Senior Hunter/worker

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well readers, there goes a perfect example of an ignorant, un respecting individual treading in where they should not be. I have asked Don to remove it and expect it to be. This individual is dead to me, and it should be clear to all here's on the board, thusly showing his immaturity, lack of respect, and his so called wit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have asked Don to remove it and expect it to be. This individual is dead to me, and it should noted that the "story of the Black Airedale", is going around the world. I have rec'd over 150 emails asking that it be continued, until it is done. I will do so, but I will not tolerate anyones smart ass remarks in it.

Damn it CBV....Your fingers are might adgile for a DEAD MAN.
I thought you agreed with me that Southern deserved enough respect to allow her story to be put up with out mockery and cat calls from the peanut gallery?
I'll bet if Charlie or Curt were posting a very long story, you would respect them, wouldn't you?
Are you a sexist, along with everything else? Give her a chance.
Now DIE, d**e a good fella.

Come on Southern.. you haven't posted any proof of anything all you have posted is correspondence where you were fighting with the AKC .... I for one would just like to see the proof that's all its that simple.. Your just stringing this thing along .. I haven't attacked you at all no names just some of my observations...
I ask please don't call me names.. SOB or Ignorant... I won't tolerate being called an SOB if your were a man I would be driving up there right now.. no need to insult my mother.... so please no names and I think you owe me an apology..
And if 150 people emailed you I will give my email and they can email me and I will not post anymore on this subject .. but only after I receive 150 valid emails and a public apology from you..

Tell the dead man Ron, I do not have to show anything to him, or anyone else. This story is going around the world. If someone does not like it, they do not have to read it, let alone post their STUPID comments. If anyone cares to drive up here, let them, I am armed also. I owe no one an apology

And also Ron, tell the dead, the comment wasn't about his Mother, he's proven what he is all on his own.

Most stories have a beginning and an end, and as in most stories if you read the end without the beginning, it will not make sense. I think that Southern has already given the end of the story, that being that she says that she has proof. Now it seems that some people don't like the end of the story. So if you don't like that ending, listen to the beginning, it might make more sense! Hang in there Southern.
