Our trainer was contacted by her other friends trainers form Germany to see if she knows anyone looking for a Personal Protection Airedale. I am passing along. Quendolin is KKLI, Sch. 1 and is very beautiful. He was V-1 rated at multiple shows. He is very protective of his handler, and is civil enough to be a first-rate protection dog. He is also social enough, however, should be placed appropriately. The present owner got Quendolin when he was 4. The first owner made so many mistakes on the retrieve that it is very difficult to re-train him for it, and the present owner didn't want to use force, so he won't keep him to compete in Schutzhund. If these bloodlines are useful to someone he'd make a great stud dog -- he's sired a couple of litters with no problems. And he's very easy to live with. Contact me privately if you know someone who might be interested.

Great news! Quendolin was purchased by K9 Security Services and will be trained here in Phoenix for Patrol - they needed another dog for the hospital patrol team and were looking for something less visually intimidating (they have a rottweiler now and patients get nervous around him) Airedale turned out to be a perfect solution. I humbly hope that the decision was somewhat influenced by witnessing 4 different puppies performing in protection and obedience classes: hmmmm, thinks Trish - they are smart and hard working, and look - so cute!

They are in Phoenix, so it shouldn't be too hard - I'll see what I can do about getting updates. Not sure if the dog is in town already, if not - should be anytime soon. Maybe we'll even cross path at the protection class - they often bring their current working dogs into regular classes "for a bite or two" - it shows all those in training what the finished dog looks like, allows the working dogs to have some fun and lets the decoy-trainees to have some hard bite practice.

Fantastic, an Airedale w/ a job! That's great Alisa. That's really exciting to me. There's nothing a good dog deserves more than a job.
The situation reminds me of being offered a security job w/ my Old English Sheepdog. The company wanted us to patrol a mall. They loved fact that the dog looked so inconspicuous. Ironically, the dog was really, really civil. They asked me how they could get their dobes & sheps to act like him...he wasn't acting!
As Curt requested, please keep us updated.
