The 2010 VPG (DHV) championships included one Airedale 60 Mals and a few GSH dogs. The Airedale came in the lower half on total scores somewhat due to blowing the last obedience exercise for 10 points. His protection routine was strong and he was graded real hard. The Mal is the Dominant sport dog and the GSH which hugely out numbers ATs has faded ! The scores can be seen www.working-dog.eu/meisterschaft-details/945/DHV-DM-2010It takes a premium membership to see the vid that you get by clicking on the scores in red..about $4 per month.

Ed,
Oftentimes when I am watching other dogs at competitions, I find the ones I like best and would be most interested in aren't the winners. While the winners are always a treat to watch what is possible between a dog with the right amount of trainability and the right training and handler to maximize the dog, I prefer the dogs that are always taking a punch pointwise often because of their extreme drive. I personally prefer a pain in the butt dog, a little to alpha and way to drivey for most people. A dog that is just this side of crazy.
