United Kennel Club Hunt to Retrieve Test HRC Sept 23, 2006 Pioneer, Ohio
Maugh and Madonna take on a another venue. Under the slanted eyes of judges more accustom to black and yellow "rocket ships"making retrieves, "M" wowed them with her black & tan rodent. With speed, style and manners that only the best retrievers at the test displayed.
Literally for all those in attendance, they were seeing a terrier for the first time work in the field and lake, giggles soon turned to amazement as land and water birds were gracefully delivered to Maugh's hand. Great work by great team!!
Bear Bryant the great footbal coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide once said "it takes more than the will to win, you must have the will to prepare to win"

Congratulations Maugh and Madonna! I wish I was there personally to witness the smirks being wiped off their faces.

This is what the breed is in need of Maugh. Someone who will put them in front of the bird people and show them what they can do. Congrats and thank you from the working aireldales.

Ditto Ditto Ditto. Give us 200 more Maugh's and the working Airedale is on it's way. Who cares about all the bs politics. This woman is the real deal. She works her Airedales with talent and passion.
I may have opted for a mixbreed but I still appreciate the incredible work this woman (and all others who have proven their dogs) has done showing the US and Canada what the ADT is capable of. Maugh - don't abandon the breed when it needs talented people like you.
This forum NEEDS the Eds, Maughs, Dons, Marks, Michaels, Stews, Curts, Melanies (and any others I forgot) to inspire the newbies. Post your pics and stories and advice and respect each others techniques and hard work in whatever capacity that is accomplished. Work with the established FUNCTIONING organizations and if you dint like them, then forget about the politics and find groups to train with that do the work you want to do.
Humbly,
Ryan
(hoping that when I am in the market for a pure working Airedale that people on this forum will have continued, through hard work, to improve the breed).
