We went to training today and the helper said Mjio's bite improved and his coordination was better than last week. Obedience was a score of zero this week. There was someone who had a female dog in heat around before we came and Mijo's nose was to the ground and that is where it stayed. We could not motivate him to do any work except protection. We tried to do Obedience 4x's and each time all he did was put his nose to the ground and try and find that female scent!

I make it a point to do work males around females in heat. It's a hard distraction for many dogs.
Last week we did some bite-work. One pit who is normally a beast showed his preference for the scent rather than the man. I'm glad to hear it didn't throw off your bite-work.
I have always used my bitches in heat as the ultimate distraction. I'll wait till the male is mounted and tell him "off" or "heel" or whatever.

Just saw your post there Carol. It's good that he still wanted to do the bitework and ya can't fault him for the other. LOL
