So it's hot in Arizona, even early in the morning. Our trainers started getting out a plastic baby-pool with water for the dogs to cool down. You'll see them carefully stepping in, wading around some and some even attempting a Sit. Then here comes Zander: Needless to say there wasn't much water left in the pool

Zander is 6 mo now and has been regularly taken to the lake for hanging out and swimming. Generally we would take the boat and find a small island to "park" - you know - get the chairs, the cooler, the canopy set - the whole shebang that you need when the air temp reach 115 in the shade. We do want it to be an island so we could get the dogs loose. Another consideration is getting out of the water - while I can get Zeena up into the boat any time - a 50 lbs Zander is not so easy to pluck out of the water, so we need shore. Or at least we NEEDED shore until this weekend. We finally bought a ladder that hooks to the side of the boat and then can be unhooked and folded after you are done using it. Works like a charm. Now we can stop and swim anywhere we want to - because all people and dogs are climbing the ladder into the boat! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all boaters with dogs. I don't have pics of any dogs/people climbing into the boat - but I'll try to make some the very next outing.
