the dog will be month old next week, so training will begin quite soon.
The criteria for this placement was that the dog must be altered withing the suggested amount of time by the vet, the dog must pass the CGC and then get it's public access certification.
the recipient of this dog is a fellow that caught spinal meningitis (sp?) as a teenager and lost his hearing due to complications.

I will donate a pup a litter to the handicapped, but certain criteria must be followed. These are not pets, these dogs must be trained to be a Assistant dog in the field where they are being placed. Dawn has agreed to help me, so as this goes about, all will be reported.

I think it is admirable when dog breeders so generously offer up puppies to those individuals who have become handicapped, either by unfortunate mishap or the dent of nature, in order to provide the new owners with another tool with which to negotiate life's mental and physical barriers. I say that with all sincerity.
Now..with tongue in cheek, I request that if anyone produces a dog that can help prevent me from sticking a foot next to the tongue....please pass him along to me.

The gentleman wanted the dog to help him, unfornunatly, his wife kept comming up with excuses that shipping cost too much, they would have to move, so they have the room, etc. I still offer a pup to any individual who needs it. The therapy proven litter parents have bred, she is due around Halloween. If an indivudial qualifys, they could have one around Xmas or New Years this year
