For all you Canadians out there
The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) allows Airedales to complete in a series of tests called the Working Certicate Tests. They have 3 increasingly difficult sections.
Basically: WC - Working Certificate a back to back singles on land 50 - 75 yrds b back to back singles on water 25 - 40 yrds
WCI Working Certificate Intermediate a land double 75 yrds moderate cover b honour on land test c water double 40-50 yrds 1 in water with decoys
WCX Working Certificate Excellent a walk up test with land and land/water double b honour on walk up c water double 100 yrds & 50 yrd c land blind 50 yrds with obstacle e water blind 50 yrds decoys and draws (land)
So you do have something to work towards if so inclined. Info roughly taken from the Working Certicate Tests Rules and Regulations for Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels and Poodles eff Jan 1 2008
