I want to toast the life of an amazing person. For those who do not know Richard "Dick" Winters was the man in charge of Easy Company while jumping into France on D-day and later led the 101st Aireborne through Battle of the Bulge and the capture of the Eagles Nest.
He died today and was 92 years old.
The HBO miniseries Band of Brothers chronicled Easy Company and the 101st through training before D-day through the end of WWII.
-nice one. cheers to him & them. amazing man, always down played his heroics too. "he-didn't talk about it much," i wonder why. He spent years in living hell for our freedom, can't imagine many great memories surrounded by that much death..... socialists fools. cheers to our soldiers,
