no clubs, no affiliations, no competition, and no desire for any of it.
I used to work my dog in a dedicated retriever and bird dog draining area of over 800 acres with several large ponds (small lakes really). I watched a lot of guys working and traing all kinds of dogs, as well as all kinds of competitions and events, and they just don't turn my crank Several nice dogs, but I'm just not interested in what they do. I'd rather have my dog break off a duck retrieve and kill an opportune rat, then get back to the dick. For that matter, I've seen him put up a lot more duck by breaking off a retrieve, and that is the way I preffer too. No robots, no rules, no clubs, just hunting/hiking/camping/whatever.
My dog is purebred, but I never even registered him with AKC, waste of money, imo. I wouldn't even have use for the airedale registry spoken of here, but I can see the good in it.

Have zero interest in clubs, organizations, affiliations, registries, or much of anything else organized. Guess I’m an unorganized kind of guy. I’ll just take my dogs out and do whatever it is we do. Might be squirrels one day and bears or cougars another. Even some quail or grouse from time to time as the opportunity presents itself. Does that make me an equal opportunity hunter?

I've not much use for registries and breeding, lean whole-heartedly towards the hunt, and don't care if they have hair on their face or not. Love to see dogs perform, be it game, birds, or livestock. Man-work is not my cup of tea, though I understand the importance of Police work & SAR. "Canned" stuff just doesn't turn my prop.

Oh yea of little faith. Just get you some tracking equipment and go for it.....What is a P&Q???.And what do I know anyway. I know caged coons just are not near as tough as coons on the ground and it takes a really special dog to kill one of those. I now know that you can't find coons during the day and that they never climb small trees. I have never hunted lion and know diddly.
