My dogs are completely trash broke Michael!!!! They are straight hog dogs but, yeh, they kill whatever they find till the hit that hog track.....like that caged fox 15 ft off the trail at the nationals. How many times have I heard someone say "my dogs are 100% trash broke" Then we spend the rest of the day looking for them because the last we saw them they were behind a deer leaving the country.LOL
I am drawn to a certain type of dog as a young pup. Extremely independent, self assured, I have 5 pups out there that are littermates to Magnum. Magnum is the pups I picked out at 4 weeks. Some people are of the mind that I keep what I consider the best mahnd place the others with other people. What I consider the best for what I want to see....is not at all what other people want to see. When I come home at lunch or after work, there are four pups there to meet me every time...jumping on me....chewing on me. Pups that anyone would love to have. Which one isn't there??? Magnum is usually sitting over by a tree watching me. He never comes to me when pups normally do. I love his independence. I know that when he is facing a rough hunt, he will be up to it. If I am out there doing something and the other pups have come and gone, he may, casually come over and say hi for a pat or two and he leaves...then again, he may not come over. He is a 14 lb little adult. This type of personality is what I like and is what does the best job for me.....but it is not what most would pick. He will be a faithful, but serious dog...heck, he is already pretty serious disposition wise. I love those pups that sit back and watch other pups act like pups....they just seem to shut them out and at the same time, the others don't try to play with them much either.
